ISSCR Remembers Sir Ian Wilmut
The ISSCR is saddened to learn of the death of Sir Ian Wilmut, a pioneer whose work was critical to the creation of Dolly the Sheep in 1996. He was 79. In addition to being a renowned scientist, Wilmut was a member of the ISSCR Board of Directors and served as Clerk from 2009-2012.

Recommendations from the Standards for the Use of Human Stem Cells in Research, published in June by the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR), include a publishing “checklist” that is now being used by laboratory scientists and implemented in the review process by scientific publishers.
