The ISSCR Announces Election of New Officers and Members of the Board of Directors
Skokie, IL – The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is pleased to announce the results of its 2021 election. Amander Clark, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology, UCLA, USA will become the next vice president of the ISSCR. Fiona Doetsch, PhD, Professor of Molecular Stem Cell Biology at the Biozentrum at the University of Basel, Switzerland was elected Clerk.

Skokie, IL – The ISSCR 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting is the one, most comprehensive gathering of scientists in stem cell research and regenerative medicine in the world. Taking place 21-26 June 2021, this hallmark event offers attendees the opportunity share knowledge, collaborate, and network in a new, state-of-the art, interactive virtual meeting experience. Registration is open for the Annual Meeting and for the pre-meeting Workshop on Clinical Translation held 7 June, 2021. ISSCR Launches Stem Cells and Global Sustainability Scientific Meeting Series
The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) launches a new scientific series today, Stem Cells and Global Sustainability, which explores the intersection of stem cell science and global sustainability issues. Janet Rossant Receives the 2021 ISSCR Achievement Award
Skokie, IL—The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) will award its 2021 Achievement Award to Janet Rossant, PhD, FRS, FRSC, President and Scientific Director of Gairdner Foundation, Chief of Research and Senior Scientist, Research Institute, The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.
Stuart H. Orkin Receives the 2021 ISSCR Tobias Lecture Award
Skokie, IL— The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) awards the 2021 Tobias Lecture Award to Stuart H. Orkin, MD, Boston Children's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Medical School, USA. Established in 2015 and supported by the Tobias Foundation, the prize recognizes original and promising basic hematology research as well as direct translational or clinical research related to cell therapy in hematological disorders. The award will be presented at a special lecture on 23 June at 1:15 p.m. EDT (13:15 EDT) during ISSCR 2021 Virtual, the world’s leading meeting of global innovators in stem cell science and regenerative medicine.
